Decision Date: 29 July 2003

Case Officer: Caroline Ansell

Status: Appeal Decided

Decision: Refused - Planning

This decision is subject to the following conditions:

  1. The proposed dwellings by virtue of their height and design would be out of keeping with other development in the area and would therefore be contrary to Policy H8 in Wychavon District Local Plan and Policy SUR1A in the Wychavon District Local Plan Revised Deposit.

  2. The use of an extended private driveway to provide access to the proposed dwellings would be harmful to the amenities of the occupiers of the adjoining dwellings which front onto Orchard Drive by virtue of increased disturbance and noise levels caused by the additional traffic. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy H20 in the Wychavon District Local Plan and Policy GD2 in the Wychavon District Local Plan Revised Deposit.

  3. Visibility at the existing access is restricted in a south-easterly direction and its increased use in connection with the proposed development would be contrary to the interests of highway safety.
