Status: Appeal Decided
Decision: Refused - Planning
This decision is subject to the following conditions:
The proposed development constitutes backland development on an irregularly shaped site to the rear of the established building line along the Village Street frontage, accessed via a long and narrow driveway running close to the side elevation and rear garden of No 59 Village Street. It is the considered opinion of the Local Planning Authority that the proposed development is out of keeping with the character of Village Street and the pattern of development established within the local area. The proposals are likely to adversely affect the residential amenities of the existing and future occupiers of No 59 Village Street by way of general noise and disturbance arising from traffic movements along the new driveway. The proposals would thereby be contrary to the aims and objectives of Policies D11 of the adopted Worcestershire County Structure Plan, H8 and H20 of the adopted Wychavon District Local Plan and GD2 and SUR1A of the Wychavon District Local Plan Review (Second Deposit).
The proposed dwelling houses and garages would, by virtue of their size, scale and design, appear out of keeping with the prevailing character and appearance of development established in the locality. The proposals would appear cramped resulting in an overdevelopment of the site, all to the detriment to local visual amenity.
