Decision Date: 18 September 2003
Case Officer: Robert Peel
Status: Appeal Decided
Decision: Refused - Planning
This decision is subject to the following conditions:
The proposed building because of its size and location in close proximity to a Public Right of Way would result in an isolated, obtrusive and visually prominent structure within the open countryside in an unsustainable rural location. This would be contrary to Policies SD4, SD7, SD8 and D27 of the Worcestershire County Structure Plan, Policy AG14 of the adopted Wychavon District Local Plan and Policies ENV1 and ECON7 of the Wychavon District Local Plan Review First Deposit and advice contained in PPG7.
Whilst the current use of the existing site appears to have been carried on for a long period of time without the benefit of formal planning permission, the Council does not wish to see the current use expanded, intensified or consolidated in this rural location which could result if permission is granted for the proposed building. It is considered that the proposal would therefore be contrary to Policies GD1, GD2 and ECON2 of the Wychavon District Local Plan Revised Deposit.
