Decision Date: 22 August 2003
Case Officer: Lynn Bailey
Status: Decided
Decision: Refused - Planning
This decision is subject to the following conditions:
The application site forms a two-storey terraced dwelling in an area of medium density residential development. Whilst the rear elevation of the terrace has been the subject of several later additions these take the form of single-storey extensions subservient to the original terrace. The proposal to erect a two-storey rear extension, by reason of its size, scale and siting, will be out of character with the existing dwelling and adjacent residential development. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy H8 of the adopted Wychavon Local Plan and Policies GD2, SUR1A and SUR9 of the Wychavon District Local Plan Review (Revised Deposit).
The two-storey extension proposed would, by reason of its size, scale, and siting along part of the northern boundary of the site and 1 metre from the boundary with No. 7 Coronation Street, be harmful to the residential amenities of adjoining dwellings. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy H8 of the adopted Wychavon District Local Plan and Policies GD2 and SUR9 of the Wychavon District Local Plan Review (Revised Deposit).
