The application site forms a modern detached dwelling at the northern fringe of the settlement of Badsey. Development along Oak Close and immediately to the west of the application site has a distinctive front building line, with dwellings sited approximately 15m from the B4035, that lies adjacent to the south-east boundary of the application site.
The proposal to erect a double garage with games room above, approximately 5m from the B4035 will because of its siting, size and scale, introduce a dominate building out of character with existing form of development in the locality. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy H8 of the adopted Wychavon District Local Plan and Policies GD2, SUR1A, SUR9 of Wychavon District Local Plan Review (Revised Deposit).
