Decision: Refusal of Listed Building Consent
This decision is subject to the following conditions:
The application site consists of a Grade II listed building in a central location within Broadway High Street. The existing front elevation of the building is symmetrical in appearance with doorways on each side of the facade, either side of three double light windows. The proposal to erect a 7.3m long external ramp on the principal facade of the building will, by virtue of its size, design and siting, be disruptive to the architectural symmetry of the building. The proposal is therefore harmful to the character of the listed building and its setting, contrary to central government advice contained within PPG15 and policies CTC19 of the adopted Worcestershire County Structure Plan, CB5 of the adopted Wychavon District Local Plan and ENV15 and ENV16 of the Wychavon District Local Plan Review (Revised Deposit).
